Paris’s Louvre will reopen for the public on July 6, 2020, with social distancing requirements: visitors will have to wear face masks, buy tickets through online reservation systems and undergo temperature checks, Artguide reports.

The Louvre’s director Jean-Luc Martinez says the museum attendance will fall significantly due to current travel restrictions. He expects a 70% decrease in visitors as 75% of the museums’s visitors before the lockdown were foreigners. Martinez remains optimistic, because “it’s time to come to the Louvre and rediscover the collection, in almost optimal security conditions, and in exceptional visiting comfort.”

The museums will change the visitors flow: entry to the museum will be allowed only through the pyramid, 30% of the museum will be closed completely.

Martinez does not expect the museum to return to normal until 2023.
