One more New York’s major art institution has announced it furloughs its employees due to the shutdown.

Kate Fowle, the MoMA PS1 director, sent a letter to the staff, saying the museum was facing its “most serious financial crisis” ever, Artnews reports.

“We expect the severe impact of this pandemic will be felt not only in the months ahead but for years to come,” Fowle wrote.

A PS1 representative confirmed 47 employees were furloughed and only 17 staffers were left working.

All employees will get salaries by May 1 and their health insurance will remain in effect through July 31. The museum also cut pay by 5% to 40% for employees earning more than $70,000 a year.

Earlier, New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New Museum, Whitney Museum and Guggenheim Museum took similar measures.
