Five free online courses are available on Coursera

The New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) offers five free online courses on Coursera dedicated to fashion, photography and contemporary art, Knife learnt from Afisha Daily.

The course What is Contemporary Art? tells about 70 artworks created between 1980 and the present, focusing on AI artworks, video games and 3D printing.

Modern Art and Ideas reveals what inspires artists, how they express their identity, political and social views through art.

The course In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Painting is dedicated to art by seven New York School artists, including Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock.

In the course Fashion as Design experts, fashion historians and designers tell about 70 garments and accessories ranging from kente cloth to jeans to 3D-printed dresses.

Seeing Through Photography analyses selected photographs from the 180-year history of photography.

The courses range from 16 to 27 hours to complete.
