Viktar Dashkevich and his wife Sviatlana were diagnosed with pneumonia at a polyclinic and taken to the TB hospital. There were no empty beds in the hospital, so the spouses prescribed antibiotics and told to go home, TUT.by learnt from Nasha Niva.

Dashkevich had a fever at home. The family contacted a doctor who told to go to hospital as soon as possible. Dashkevich and his wife were taken to the dermatovenerologic hospital. Both tested negative.

On March 24, the actor felt worse. He was transferred to the special clinical centre. Dashkevich took a second test, which came back positive on March 26.

Sviatlana was discharged on March 26 and told to stay in isolation for 14 days. Her husband was transferred to the intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator. Besides coronavirus, he had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Vitebsk’s Yakub Kolas Dramatic Theatre cancelled shows until April 18, but did not close. The director said the shows were cancelled because attendance fell.
