Two campaigns have been launched in Belarus to support artists and cultural organisations. The Instagram campaign #ArtOnQuarantine (#АртНаКарантине) is set up to support artists, and #ArtProyezdnoy (#АртПроездной), a part of #CULTURECOMMUTE fundraising campaign, is launched to help cultural organisations through the MolaMola fundraising platform, Reformation reports.

The campaigns are initiated by the social cultural project ARTONIST.

#ArtProyezdnoy was inspired by the campaign #CULTURECOMMUTE that encourages people to donate the value of their daily commute to a cultural organisation they like.

ARTONIST: “No one knows how long the pandemic will last. It’s possible that the Belarusian culture will not survive through this period. It means that galleries and cultural spaces will close down, and you will no longer visit exhibitions by your favourite artists, independent theatre shows and education events.”

Belarusians can support their favourite art spaces and project on the MolaMola fundraising platform. Participants of the campaign include ОК16, Druhi Paverh, the cultural centre Korpus, ARTONIST, the gallery of contemporary art "Ў", VEHA, ZNYATA, wir.by, the project "I’m Monet, I’m Shishkin, I’m Malevich”, the drawing and arttherapy studio Neutral Black, Art Siadziba, PRAFOTA, Dadalog and KURS:RA.

The organisers ask to make donations and tell about the campaign on social media.

The campaign is supported by other cultural organisations and initiatives: the Northern Lights Nordic-Baltic Film Festival, the festival Month of Photography in Minsk, SPRAVA festival, the Union of Photographers of Belarus, the space Kryly Khalopa, the XO Gallery, the DK Gallery, Hide club.

The Instagram campaign #ArtOnQuarantine offers a collection of 800 artworks that can be purchased with a discount.
