Artist Slava Ptrk welded metal hands to a storm drain and installed it on the embankment outside Moscow’s Kremlin. It looks as if someone is holding onto the bars, according to Meduza news website.

The artist told Meduza the installation address the events “taking place just behind us”. The artwork is meant to remind people about prisons where people are sometimes “convicted for nothing”.

“Torture, jail terms for reposts, police brutality, political prisoners, arrests at rallies, turning the country into a big prison, the installation is about such things,” Slava Ptrk says.
