Young creative generation helps bring communities together despite division and political turmoil.

Paris’s music scene is diverse but has common identity. All – musicians, music fans and partygoers – become Parisians through music. The city is a mix of styles and genres that blend together to unite communities divided by politicians. Everyone can be themselves and everyone can find a way to express themselves through music. Paris’s chaotic nature and its changing communities are united by a generation of young musicians calling themselves Parisian.

Audio company Beats released a short video showing the relationship between the city and its vibrant music scene. It features the people who contributed to modern Parisian music and those who continue to define it. Musician and performance artist Oko Ebombo, iconic electronic duo Justice, DJ and model Agathe Mougin and popular Gucci Gang crew, a symbol of Paris's current spirit, share their views on the role of music in their life and the life of the city.

“With what is happening in the world right now, we need hope, we need curiosity, we need people who dare to say a positive message,”, Agathe Mougin says about her vision of music.

The lightness of the young generation of Parisian musicians who express their attitude to life through music is a contrast to political upheaval and tension in the world. Their music is an alternative view on current reality, a prophetic view that shows society the direction it will have to move in.

“The music we make resembles real life as little as possible,” says Xavier de Rosnay of Justice.

Amid political turmoil and cultural upheaval, Paris’s creative scene remains true to the idea of brining different spheres and communities together through music. The video emphasises the uniting power of art that can overcome social division and help people cope with social transformation. Young Parisian musicians oppose the old system, helping society unite and go through change together.
