In the final part, the filmmaker and Russian president will talk about the Kremlin’s role in the US election and Donald Trump’s ties with Moscow.

Oliver Stone’s four-part documentary The Putin Interviews premiered on American Showtime on June 12. The filmmaker and winner of three Academy Awards has been working on the project over the last two years. It was the period when Crimea was annexed, a military conflict in eastern Ukraine began, relations between Russia and the West worsened and mutual sanctions were imposed.

The final episode of the four-part documentary focuses on Russia-US relations, in particular, on the widely discussed issue of Russia’s interference in last November’s US presidential election. Other topic raised is ties between US president Donald Trump and the Kremlin. The fourth part of The Putin Interviews will be aired on Showtime this evening.

In the previous parts, Vladimir Putin showed Oliver Stone his office and talked about his hobbies. The Russian leader and American filmmaker discussed the relationship between the Kremlin and the opposition, international relations, Crimea’s annexation, Russia’s policy in Ukraine and global terrorism.

The filmmaker announced his plans to make a documentary about Putin in 2014. The film offers an alternative point of view on the Russian president and recent controversial political events in which he was involved as an anti-hero. Stone’s documentary will be aired in Russia on June 19-22 by Channel One.
