Anastasia Kolosova is going to file a lawsuit. Experts say the incident was a deliberate provocation by Russians, who were among organisers.
Young Ukrainian fashion designer Anastasia Kolosova from Dnipropetrovsk was happy to receive an invitation to such a big event as Roma Fashion Week. She was busy behind the stage during her collection presentation and didn’t know that it was displayed under a Russian flag and the designer was called a Russian. Anastasia saw photos upon returning to Ukraine and learnt about the move by the organisers.
“I was shocked when I saw it. I don’t understand how such a mistake – presenting a Ukrainian participant under the flag of the aggressor – are possible at the event of that level,”Ukraine’s TSN quotes the designer.
Anastasia calls the incident a matter of principle and plans to bring the organisers to court. It turned out that an Italy-based Russian woman was among the organisers. It was she who declined Anastasia’s request to correct the mistake. The manager who selected participants from Ukraine is not going to solve the issue either. Anastasia hasn’t received apologies for the incident that not only humiliated her personally, but also denigrated the country. A court will determine what damage was caused to the young Ukrainian designer by the organisers.
