Series creator Ryan Murphy posted a teaser for season 7 of American Horror Story on his Instagram page. It is a frightening drawing of an elephant with red lips and large teeth bared. Murphy earlier said the new season of American Horror Story would be based on the 2016 presidential campaign. Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live with in February, Murphy promised politically-charged episodes.

“Well I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people,” he said.

Murphy later revealed that the storyline in the new season would begin on the evening November 8, 2016, when the world was shocked to learn that Republican Donald Trump unexpectedly won the US election.

He said the election would be an allegory of the general state of American society. “It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story,” Murphy said.

He also said the new season wouldn’t feature the presidential candidates – Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. He dispelled rumours that the series’s star Sarah Paulson would play Hillary. Anyway, she will appear in the new season together with another leading actor, Evan Peters. Shooting of American Horror Story season 7 will start in June. The first episodes are expected to be released in autumn.
