Dolk Lundgren is turning an expensive sports car into a work of art.

The performance resembles Palahniuk’s Fight Club. The destruction of expensive things to free yourself from their influence. Norwegian artist Dolk Lundgren decided that a scratched $170,000 Lamborghini can be an artwork. According to him, the modified car is now considered to be complete and may be regarded as a piece of art, symbolising one of the dimensions of contemporary culture.

The used Lamborghini was on display at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Aarhus, Denmark. Visitors were encouraged to scratch everything they want on the expensive car. The interactive work made museum visitors co-creators and symbolised the idea that culture is created by communities where actions by an individual influence the whole group.

“Everything you do, every action, leaves a mark on the society you live in. None of us are left untouched, as every little action has an impact on the whole,” the curators say.

The initiator, artist Dolk Lundgren, said the sports car turned into an artwork and was deemed complete.
