The singer staged a protest outside Trump Tower, the campaign headquarters of US president-elect Donald Trump.

Lady Gaga, who openly supported Hillary Clinton during the year, made another political statement after Donald Trump’s surprising victory. She took to Trump Tower early in the morning after the voting day and raised an American flag and a sign reading “Love trumps hate”, a popular slogan of the presidential campaign.

The singer stood on a sanitation truck, holding the sign over her head. She posted a black-and-white photo of the protest on Twitter and wrote “I want to live in a #CountryOfKindness #LoveTrumpsHate He divided us so carelessly.”

She later wrote the chaos in the country was the result of Donald Trump’s irresponsible campaigning. Lady Gaga notes that he can’t be a role model of the people of the country and anyone can understand it if they look at the mess he created.

The singer was seen in tears on the election night at Clinton's election night party. Lady Gaga regularly speaks against sexism, victim blaming and supports sexual minorities. She joined other celebrities at Clinton’s campaign rally last week. Lady Gaga drew attention to Clinton’s experience and professional qualities that made her a good candidate for the US presidency. “She kept going and she kept fighting for women's rights. She kept fighting for the care of our children. She kept fighting for those that are in need… We are stronger together. What I see in this remarkable woman is that she is ready to restore peace in this country,” the singer said.
