Born into an orthodox Jewish family and raised in the Polish town Sosnowiec, Haim Ferster was 17 when war broke out in 1939. Between 1943 and 1945 he was moved between eight different camps across Germany and Poland, enduring terrible conditions, in which many died. His parents died in the camp as well. Now Haim Ferster is aged 93 and living in Manchester, where he settled in 1946, establishing several successful businesses. He is contemplating about his life and the meaning of human sufferings.
