Winners will be announced by June 30, 2020

The Centre for Experimental Museology (CEM) has extended the application deadline for the grant programme The Museum in a Liminal State until May 25, 2020, Artguide reports.

“We, as cultural workers, are now visitors to a Long Night of Museums, but where a large part of Planet Earth is the museum, and the night is a polar night. What happens when quarantine comes to the museum, what happens in ‘quarantine within quarantine’?”

The selected projects will be announced by June 30, 2020. Organisers expect from participants an essay of at least 20 pages on the topic of the research as an outcome of the research project.

The grant programme was launched in 2016. The first edition brought together 14 artists, curators, theoreticians and art historians from Belarus, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Greece, Russia, the USA and Ukraine.

Outcomes of research projects will be published in an almanac in Russian and English (2020). Financial support is granted on an individual basis and depends on the required budget for each project. More information can be found on CEM’s website.

The Centre for Experimental Museology is an initiative of V–A–С Foundation and external collaborators aimed at developing and supporting projects that deal with experiments in art institutions' form.
