The performance was part of Greenpeace UK’s campaign Ditch Diesel against Volkswagen’s deception of consumers and testing laboratories regarding diesel emissions. Greenpeace also launched petition calling on the corporation’s CEO to reduce the production of diesel cars. More than 50,000 people have signed the petition.
“If we’re gonna have this clean tech future that this exhibition is all about, it needs to be with electric [cars],” activist Rosie said in a Facebook Live stream of the performance.
