The filmmaker says his new documentary will hit the 45th president of the US and may lead to his impeachment.

Documentary director Michael Moore has reunited with the team involved in his film Fahrenheit 9/11 about George W. Bush and his war on terror started after the September 11th attack. This time, Meghan O’Hara, Tia Lessin, Carl Deal and he, as well as Bob and Harvey Weinstein will work on a similar documentary about Donald Trump. The film will be titled Fahrenheit 11/9, a reference to the day when the 45th president of the United States was elected.

The documentary team says most of the work has been finished. The documentary, which was filmed in secret, will deliver a serious blow to Trump.

“No matter what you throw at him, it hasn’t worked. No matter what is revealed, he remains standing. Facts, reality, brains cannot defeat him. Even when he commits a self-inflicted wound, he gets up the next morning and keeps going and tweeting. That all ends with this movie,” Michael Moore said.

The director repeatedly criticised Trump during his presidential campaign and after the election. In February, Moore even delivered an ultimatum to the president, saying he must quit voluntary, otherwise he will be impeached. Judging by the filmmaker’s remarks, his new documentary may lead to the impeachment process.

David Glasser, chief operating officer of the Weinstein Company, said possibilities for the documentary distribution in the US and abroad would be discussed at the Cannes Film Festival this week. Fahrenheit 9/11 won the Palme D’or in Cannes in 2005 and received a 20-minute standing ovation. The film about George W. Bush grossed $222 million and became the highest grossing documentary of all time.

The new documentary will have both traditional and innovative distribution plans. The Weinsteins don’t reveal secrets so far, but they note it’s important as never before to bring Moore’s work to a wide audience. The documentary hasn’t received the release date yet, but it may happen soon, according to the director’s statements.
