After the release of the first film, James Cameron has been working on scripts for four sequels, the first of which will come out in three years.

The screenwriter, producer and director of two biggest box office hits ever – Titanic and Avatar – prepares four premieres for the audience. It’s not news that a sequel to 2007’s Avatar will be released, but the premiere date has been delayed several times. It has turned out that the director starts shooting the second installment only this summer. Cameron has spent the years since the iconic film release writing scripts for four new installments.

The movies are set on Pandora. Avatar 2 will star actors from the original cast – Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and even Sigourney Weaver, whose character died in the first installment. These are all details known about the sequels, but 20th Century Fox, the franchise’s official distributor, has already announced official release dates for all four new movies.

The long-awaited second installment will come out on December 18, 2020, 11 years after the first film. Avatar 3 will be released a year later, December 17, 2021. The fourth and fifth installments will hit the screen in two consecutive years three years after Avatar 3’s release – on December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025.
